France: A first for the school bridge
Source: FFBridge
It all started with an original idea from the youth delegate of the Dauphine Savoie committee: organize an exchange between the Savoyard students of the René Long secondary school in Alby-sur-Chéran with bridge students living on the other side of France.
After making contact with the youth delegate of the Charentes Poitou Vendée Committee and initiator of bridge at the Pierre Mendès France College in Parthenay, the two initiators agree to an exchange between two groups of 10 junior students in the 4th class.
Each student was associated with his “bridge correspondent”. Students make contact with each other: write via social networks.
Then it’s the first week of meeting:
From February 18 to 24, 2019: the 10 two-seventh-generation students went to the mountains. Five days of bridge lessons, but also winter sports: skiing, tobogganing, snowshoeing, ice rink, visit to Annecy and a bell foundry. The final bridge tournament closes the stay.
From July 10 to 16, 2019, it was the turn of the 10 students of Haute-Savoie to discover La Gâtine and its capital Parthenay which hosted the largest gaming festival in France: the FLIP. In the program of every day, always bridge, but also, the big Park of Puy du Fou, the Atlantic coast, and the FLIP!
An exchange around the bridge but especially very rich in meetings.
Congratulations to the initiators and the teams for this great initiative.
