Cambridge University has won the Portland Bowl for the fifth consecutive year.
Cambridge’s ‘B’ team (pictured L to R with Neil Mendoza from the Portland Club which hosted the finals) of Freddie Illingworth, Ryan Chan (capt), Kripa Panchagnula & Jonathan Clark defeated Oxford A (Ewa Wieczorek, Federico Lombardi, Peter Banks, Alex Roberts) in the final. Warwick A was third.
This stretches Cambridge’s advantage as the most successful university in the competition (with 15 victories, and Oxford second on 9). Freddie joins a group of players with four victories in the competition (only Chris Jagger has won the event five times). Kripa and Jonathan were part of last year’s winning team; this was Ryan’s first victory.
