Q: Why did you start playing bridge?
A: Because K’s and A’s was too easy. (Editor’s Note: K’s and A’s is Kings and Apprentices. Also called Warlords and Less Good people)
Q: How did you find out about bridge?
A: A friend, in high school.
Q: Is it true that you’ve won an International Gold Medal in bridge?
A: How did you know?
Q: You mention it every five minutes.
A: Yes, I’ve won an international Gold Medal. It was for the Youth Transnational.
Q: Transnational means that you can play with people from any country right? So who did you play with.
A: Some guy called Kevin Rosenberg, and his team. Adam Kaplan, and other jokers like that, so basically USA1. They asked me because I had Blue and Purple Hair?
Q: Were they looking for a mascot?
A: No, they drafted me on the second day, so they could go and get a massage. And I have a glass trophy at home. With two-sided tape sticking on a metal plaque, that says First Qualifier – Transnational B-A-M, 2018. (Editor’s Note: B-A-M stands for Board-A-Match, which is a form of bridge scoring)
Q: Have you got any tips for playing B-A-M?
A: Play with Big Kev… and have Adam Kaplan as your teammate at the other table.
Q: Have you ever listened to “the Bridge Zone”
A: Yes I have.
Q: What is the Bridge Zone?
A: The Bridge Zone is a community Broadcast Bridge Show, that brings bridge to the …. masses.
Q: And apparently, you’ve starred on it?
A: I’m a regional representative. Every time something interesting happens in the OtagoSouthland region, I go on it and have a yak with Barry. But since nothing interesting happens, I conflate it with my own interesting stories.
Q: Is Otago a town?
A: Otago is a province, so is Southland, joined by bridge.
Q: Ok, it’s time to go, do you know where Curtin is?
A: Hopefully in front of the window?
Q: Not “A Curtain”, the suburb called Curtin.
A: I do not. Can I know what I am getting myself in for?
Brad used to have Blue Hair, or Purple Hair, or both. For some reason now has a head shaved in the final stages of Male Pattern Baldness.
