9th EUROPEAN OPEN BRIDGE CHAMPIONSHIPS Istanbul, Turkey  15th to 29th June 2019 Organised by the European Bridge League In cooperation with the Turkish Bridge Federation I am very pleased to inform you that the 9th European Open Bridge Championships will be held at: Green Park Pendik Hotel & Convention Center Istanbul – Turkey  http://thegreenparkpendik.com/en/  These Championships include Medal events (Mixed, Open, Women and Seniors – Pairs and Teams) and side events – Pairs and Teams. All events are transnational. Detailed information is available at http://www.eurobridge.org/repository/competitions/19Istanbul/microsite/information.htm 15th to 19th June———           Mixed Teams 18th to 21st June———           Mixed Pairs 22nd to 26th June———          Open Teams 22nd to 25th June———          Women & Seniors Teams 25th to 29th June———           Open Pairs 25th to 27th June———           Women & Seniors Pairs We have reduced the entry fees compared to previous editions for the Women and Seniors events. Furthermore, we are offering substantial “early bird” discounts provided registration and payment reaches us latest 30th April. For details please refer to the microsite at: http://www.eurobridge.org/repository/competitions/19Istanbul/microsite/information.htm The registration process is now open and all entries to the various Medal events must be submitted electronically via the EBL Website (not by e-mail), not later than seven days prior to the starting date of the respective event, at: http://www.eurobridge.org/repository/competitions/19Istanbul/microsite/participants.htm Later entries will be accepted only if technically and logistically convenient. For withdrawals of accepted entries please refer to article 1.3 of the SCoC. Please note that:
  • entries to the EBL teams and pairs side events are to be made at the latest the day prior to the start of the respective event, through an electronic procedure to be published in the Daily Bulletin.
  • No registrations will be accepted on the starting day of any competitions.
  • To qualify for the entry fee discounts registration and payment must reach us by 30th April at the latest.
Bridge players from all WBF zones are entitled to participate in the Championships provided they are members in good standing of a recognized National Bridge Organisation (NBO). To be eligible for participation in the 2019 European Open Championships a player must comply with the EBL Rules & Regulations and the EBL Eligibility Code under the control of the EBL Credentials Committee. Entries received will be automatically forwarded to the NBO of each proposed player, and are subject to the approval of their NBO and the EBL Credentials Committee. Players may not apply to enter more than one of events going on at the same time, and may not be registered on more than one Team in each Series. Payment

  • On-site payments will be possible in cash (Euros) latest on the day prior to the start of the event, subject to the conditions in “Registration” above, at the Tournament Reception & Registration Desk at the Venue.
Awards European Bridge League Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals will be awarded. The winners in each category (Mixed, Open, Women, and Seniors) will receive the title of European Open Champions. EBL medals will not be awarded for side events. EBL Master Points will be awarded in all events.
