By: Bert Toar Polii In the framework of the 3rd WBF Online Youth Teams League which will take place on February 2, 2020 and end in July 2020 online at PB Gabsi Bridge Base Online will form 3 teams, namely Junior U26, Girls U26 and Kids U16 through online trials. For this reason, the GABSI Online Bridge Committee with its Chairman Ronny Lontoh will hold the National Online Bridge Selection Junior U26, Girls U26 and Kids U16 starting on December 19, 2019 and ending on January 18, 2020. Just to note, Indonesia has participated in this event since it was first held in 2018 ago. Initially there was only one Junior U26 then last year added the Kids U16 and next year added Girls U26. Even though Indonesia when participating for the first time in 2018 all the players are women, see here: http://youth.worldbridge.org/1st-wbf-youth-teams-online-championships-u26-indonesia-team/ For the 2020 event for Junior U26 and Kids U16 are divided into two divisions, namely Premier League and First Division. Indonesia qualified to play in the Premier League while Kids U16 in the First Division. In the new Girls U26 there is no division. For Junior U26 and Kids U16, there will be promotions and relegation, while for Girls U26 this year, they will choose teams that will be in the Premier League next year. Seeing the schedule of this event from year to year which always starts in February, in the future it seems the selection of team formation must be accelerated at least mid-year. Thus the bias can be prepared by a more mature team regarding the system, the partnership agreement used also has a long enough flight time to familiarize themselves with the bridge game via online. It is also possible, next year the U21 and U31 groups have been added. Back to organizing the National Secretariat to form a team to represent Indonesia in the 3rd WBF Online Youth Teams League. The team to be formed is
  1. Junior Team (max 25 years 31 December 2020 or born on or after 1 January 1995)
  2. Team Girls (max 25 years 31 December 2020 or born on or after 1 January 1995)
  3. Team Kids (max 15 th December 31, 2020 or born on or after January 1, 2005) Selection is divided into 2 stages: Preliminary & Final
The preliminary starts on 19 December 2019 to 12 January 2020, playing 10 rounds @ 16 Swiss Match Point boards (%). The 8 best scores from the 10 rounds followed are the benchmarks for assessment. 24 Best pairs qualify for the Final Final starting on January 13 2020 to January 17 2020 playing 5 rounds and must be followed by all rounds. 4 couples in each category with the highest total% representing Indonesia to participate in WBF Junior, Girls & Kids Online. All finalist participants are required to have a convention card. Participants are also required to fill out and sign the Commitment Form which will later be provided by PB GABSI.
