The Keep Bridge Alive Pro Am will be an exclusive event, to include a drinks reception and buffet dinner prior to the tournament itself. Guests will have the chance to bid to partner an International or UK expert from the world of bridge – a thrilling opportunity for keen bridge enthusiasts!
Players who will be part of this special auction include Sabine Auken (Germany), David Bakhshi (UK), Dennis Bilde (Denmark), Sally Brock (UK), Boye Brogeland (Norway), Tommy Garvey (Ireland), David Gold (UK), Barbara Hackett (Germany), Fredrik Helness (Norway), Zia Mahmood (USA), Artur Malinowski (UK) and Roy Welland (USA), and many more. All top players participating in the main event are available as partners sold by auction.
The auction opens for bidding on Monday 4 November 2019 at 12:00 and closes on Friday 7 February 2020 at 12.00.
There is also a great opportunity for you to ‘sponsor a junior to play’ as a key goal of the Pro-Am is to raise the profile of bridge as an intergenerational game for young people and families.
By joining us at this distinguished event you will contribute to the wider recognition of bridge as a fun and meaningful mind sport with positive lifelong impacts on brain fitness and healthy ageing (for further information see: https://keepbridgealive.bridgecloud.com/).

Keep Bridge Alive Pro-Am Auction Conditions

- The Pro-Am tournament is open to bridge players of all skill levels.

Online https://www.jumblebee.co.uk/keepbridgealiveproam20february2020
By email philanthropy@stir.ac.uk
By phone 01786 466029
Bidders will receive a notification if they are outbid.
- Bidding starts from £275. All successful bids entitle the partnership to the reception drinks, dinner and wine, and taking part in the Pro-Am bridge tournament. A competing bid must be £25 or £50 higher than the preceding bid, depending on the expert. A bidder can decide to bid anonymously or publicly. In case of the latter the name of the bidder will be displayed on the website next to the name of the player the bid has been placed on.
- In the case of two identical bids the first bid will be deemed the winning bid and the other party will receive a notification. In case of bids made in the last 5 minutes before the auction closes, 15 minutes will be added for that particular player, which will be repeated should yet another bid arrive within the last 5 minutes.
- If a bidder wins more than one pro by the end of the auction due to multiple bids, the bidder will have two pros to dispose of since all bids are binding.
- The auction opens Monday 4 November 2019 at 12.00 and closes on Friday 7 February 2020 at 12.00 BMT. Bids received after this time will not be valid.
- It is possible to place a blind bid and receive guidance on whom to choose. Please contact hazel.mcilwraith@stir.ac.uk or s.v.punch@stir.ac.uk
- In addition to participation in the Pro-Am, the auction fee includes a sparkling wine reception, drinks and a fork buffet before the tournament and prizes post tournament. The event starts at 6pm with the bridge and prizes finishing around 11pm, and the bar open for mingling until midnight.
- Sponsors of the event and KBA Patrons have the right to select a partner according to their contribution. That player will no longer be available for public auction.
- Payment (by credit card, bank transfer or cheque) is due before playing in the event on Thursday 20 February 2020.
