Tim & Oscar

The declarer won the first trick in his hand with his singletonK and continued withK, after winning the trick, he continued with J won by West with the king. Next came a diamond.

Tim raised with the ace and run his clubs for the surprise of the Poland pair: one spade, one heart, one diamond and 6 clubs made nine impossible tricks.

How could West or East imagine North spade singleton and seven clubs after his 1NT call?

Declarer won the diamond lead with his ace, and continued with three spade rounds (A, K and Q) watching West discards in the second and third rounds and realized that probably East was going to be short in clubs.

Federico continued with three rounds of high hearts discarding his diamond loser in the third round and ruffed dummy’s diamond in his hand to continue with a small club to the king winning the trick.

Next came a small club to West ace and declarer claimed the rest of the tricks.
