Bridge Youth Championships 2020
From October 8 to 11, in Starachowice Poland, the Junior Bridge Championships were held.
17 “Piast” Feliks’ teams, the largest was in the under 12 category, achieved great success.
Maja Jakubiak and Dominik Wrzesiński won the mixed pair tournament. Lena Kopowicz and Mateusz Wrzesiński came second, followed by Wiktoria Ciura and Bartłomiej Gala in fourth.
In the Open Pair tournament, Bartłomiej Gala and Maciej Godlewski won the event.
In the team tournament, the gold medals were won by the brothers Dominik and Mateusz Wrzesiński together with two colleagues from Rzeszów. The team of Lena Kopowicz, Bartłomiej Gala, Maciej Godlewski and their friend from Pruszcz Gdański came third. This team defeated the team of girls from “Piast” in the match for bronze medals: Martyna Gmurek, Wiktoria Ciura, Zuzanna Bobryk and Maja Jakubiak.
In the tournaments for girls pairs and boys pairs, two gold medals! Among the girls, Lena Kopowicz and a friend from Brodnica were the winners, Zuzanna Bobryk and Martyna Gmurek in fourth place, and among the boys, “gold” was won by Domik Wrzesiński and Bartłomiej Gala. In fourth place – Mateusz Wrzesiński and Maciej Godlewski.
Apart from those mentioned in the championships, also Filip Komendarek and Miłosz Kunicki competed. Jakub Kwaśny, Tymoteusz Bodzioch, Szymon Kujawa, Krzysztof Wojno and Julia Gala and Mateusz Jakubowski in the under 15 category.
Thanks to the equal play of all players, we won all the U-12 final standings! In the individual case, the Wrzesiński brothers came first and third, Bartek was fourth. Among the clubs “Piast” in front of CKIS Skawina, UKS Brodnica, GTB Gdańsk. The classification of schools was added by Sochaczew Primary School No. 3, in third place – Primary School in Wymysłów. Together with AZS Uniwersytet Warszawski, we won the voivodship classification!
