Board 4 After Wisse Huvers’s (NTH) 1NT opening bid, Mateusz Sobczak (POL) entered the bidding with 2and after his partner raised him to the third level, he closed the game. Lead: 4 Declarer won the lead with dummy’s ace, and continue with the J winning the trick. Now came a small trump to the 9, and the A. Sobczak (POL) continued with a small club to king, ace, and ruffed the heart return. He begun to play the clubs and claimed 11 tricks. Netherlands Youth was down one in the same contract and 13 IMPs for Poland. Next board produced 5 IMPs more for Poland when they managed to win 1NT that was lost in Netherland’s table. Poland continued winning IMPs in the next boards…Netherlands Youth was frozen… This was the score board at the moment: Board 7 saw Netherlands Y. woke up…and Poland taking a nap that cost them 10 IMPs… Board 7 Contract: 4 Lead: A The defense won the first trick, and the second one when North ruffed the club continuation. Back came a heart to the ace, next came the Q but was ruffed with the trump ace from dummy. Declarer continued with two high trumps, and a small diamond from his hand. When the diamond king appeared over the table he claimed. Poland this time only played a spade part score making 10 tricks that cost them 10 IMPs. Last board was another 9 IMPs for Poland.
