2nd Youth Online Championship 2019 Indonesia U15 in Semis by Bert Toar Polii

The Indonesia U16 team made a big surprise when they qualified for the semifinals 2nd Youth Online Championship 2019 held by World Bridge Fedration from 10 March 2019 and planned to end on 6 August 2019.
Indonesia along with 33 countries participated in the U26 Junior group and 19 countries in the Kids U16 group. The U26 national team is only ranked 6th, so it failed to reach the final quater because it was only ranked 1-4.
The U16 team are strengthened by players: Angelica P. T. Rompas, Christofel Katiandagho, Bertrand Barahama, Putra Nurhamidin, Jaedon Mozez Kairupan, Minyeo Jubilate Kairupan, Taqwa R. Winata, Whitney A. Kattang. NPC: Syamsu Rizal. Coach: Jeldy Tontey. All players come from Manado.
In the preliminary round the Kids U16 team finished second and will face Norway (7) in the last 8. The British preliminary round winners will meet ranked 8th, Turkey. By ending as number two, Indonesia is in a different pool with England as champions.
Indonesia beat Norway 69-41 imp and has the right to advance to the semi-finals.
In the semi-finals they will face France who defeated China. The other semi finalists will fight Turkey against Poland. Turkey had previously conquered Britain and Poland defeated the United States.
Turkey made a surprise as the 8th place conquered England ranked 1. Just a reminder of the system of the 2019 Youth Youth Championship.
The matches will be held in two rounds, namely the preliminary round of the Swiss 7 session playing system and the Quarter Final, Semi-Final and Final rounds which take place in the knockout system. In the preliminary round the determination of the opponent will be drawn in a “blind draw” using the application “Num Generator” for the initial 6 sessions.
Furthermore, in the seventh or last session, the first rank will be faced with second place, rank 3 will fight with fourth place and so on according to the ranking until the sixth session.
The match plays 14 boards and is broadcast live throughout the world through Bridge Base Online. If there is no audience in the first year, the audience is allowed this year.
Then ranking 1-4 from each pool for Junior U26 will compete in the final quarter which takes place with a knockout system until the final round. The match will take place in 3 segments @ 14 boards.
Especially for Kids U16 because there is no pool division, ranking 1-8 will qualify for the final quarter round. Match system with junior U26.
Unlike the bridge match in general, online bridge matches will be held via internet using Bridge Base Online. So players will play from their homes according to the schedule agreed upon by the two Non-Playing Captain (NPC).
